The Big Box

Life was going to be so much better. After all, I had been toiling away with a computer that sounded more like my last check up at the doctors. Memory shot, dry joints, in fact - just too darn old, but despite feeling a slight pang at getting rid of something that sounded more like me than me, it had to go!

What I didn't realize was - it's replacement - an all singing, all dancing, up to the minute, hi tech piece of kit, would turn me into a jibbering wreck - and it's too late to turn the clock back! Where has the starting handle gone, the wires that wrap around my legs every time I jump up to answer the door. When do you brew up? I always had plenty of time with the old one.

I began to wish I was two again, I could just throw the computer away and play with the box. But anyway, persevere they said, so this is me persevering.
An author once had an idea
that would make all his woes disappear
if he wrote them all down
he could banish his frown
but it finished his writing career

                  -0-

Pen is poised
Paper ready
Minds a blank
Hand unsteady
Ideas, few
Where to start
Scratching head
Loosing heart
Had a thought
Saves the day
Kettle boiled
Tea on tray
Always tomorrow
That's the plan
Sleeping easy
Poem - in can

Disclaimer

May I take this opportunity in relinquishing any responsibility in the content of this blog on the following people? All who have acted with great diligence and had their patience stretched to the very limit in an effort to impart any learning into an otherwise redundant brain.

To Kathy and Jo who coped with me for five years, trying in vain to drag the slightest ounce of creativity from a vacant mind and turn blank sheets of paper into a magical world full of stories and poems.

Joanne has had an even harder task - trying to elucidate the vagaries of the English language into someone with a I.Q. that has a decimal point in front of it.

Sian was press-ganged into allowing me to occupy space (that should rightly belong to someone that has at least a slight working knowledge of computers) in an ICT class!!!! Can you believe it?

So despite the best efforts of those mentioned above I am going to try and divulge my innermost thoughts and feelings (you wish), into this newest form of communication – the blog. So please hold on tight to anything loose or valuable and get ready for the ride.
